Learning on the Go
A mobile-first study solution for students
Project Overview
Pearson Prep is a mobile-first solution to help students study. By bringing together a student's course and study materials — both author-provided and student-created — giving them a place to start, and enabling them to target what they need to learn most when they can learn it best.
Process
Involved in ideation, research, and validation phases, I worked with PM, Learning Design, and a Prototyper to create working demos for research. Then moved forward with production and continued to improve and iterate through product cycles.

Site Maps
In order to make sense of the product criteria and features, sitemap design helped the product team, stakeholders, and developers get an overview and understand the scope of effort. With the sitemap approved, we translated it into UI screens to ensure the functions were properly represented.
Sitemap helps dev and product team understand the general flow.
Results
One initial key metric was getting to a live working mobile & desktop app for a 2,000-person beta test in 10 weeks.
The Prep product was a success — it validated that students desired additional study content and were willing to pay for it if it was high quality. The expert decks were subsequently rolled into the Pearson Plus version of eText. This was the first app for Pearson Higher Ed to release in the app store and generate revenue.
